Christopher Sean Lowe, born on October 4, 1959, is an English musician, singer, and songwriter. He is best known as one half of the famous synth-pop group Pet Shop Boys. He started the band with Neil Tennant in 1981.

About Chris Lowe
Chris Lowe grew up in Blackpool, England. He went to Arnold School. Music was a big part of his family. His grandfather played the trombone in a jazz band. His mother was a dancer, and his father played piano by ear.
Chris learned to play the trombone and piano. He was in his school's orchestra and dance band. He also studied music in high school.
Early Music Days
Chris played trombone in a dance band called One Under the Eight. They played popular songs like "Hello Dolly" and "La Bamba". He also played in a local brass band. For a short time, he played keyboards in a school rock band called Stallion.
Studying Architecture
In 1978, Chris started studying architecture at the University of Liverpool. In 1981, he worked at an architecture firm in London. During this time, he met Neil Tennant in a music shop.
As their music career grew, Chris continued his architecture studies. He earned a degree in architecture. However, he decided to focus on the Pet Shop Boys full-time in 1985. He did not complete the final steps to become a qualified architect.
Musical Career
Pet Shop Boys
Chris Lowe is usually the keyboard player for the Pet Shop Boys. Sometimes, he sings or speaks parts of songs. He even sings the main vocals on a few songs, like "Paninaro".
He also played the trombone on the song "I Want a Lover." You can see him with his trombone in the music video for "What Have I Done to Deserve This?"
Solo Projects
In 1993, Chris wrote and produced a song called "Do the Right Thing." It was for the Arsenal football player Ian Wright.
Two years later, in 1995, Chris made a small appearance in the Australian TV show Neighbours. This happened when the Pet Shop Boys were on tour in Australia.
In 2004, Chris created music for a sunscreen advertisement. A remixed version of this song later appeared on a music album.
Chris also wrote music for a play called Bent in 2006. The song was called "Streets of Berlin."
In 2011, Chris sang on a song for the first time outside of the Pet Shop Boys. He was a featured singer on Stop Modernists' cover of the New Order song "Subculture".
