Christopher Sean Lowe (born 4 October 1959) is an English musician, singer, and songwriter. He is best known as one half of the famous synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys. He started the band with Neil Tennant in 1981.

About Chris Lowe's Early Life
Christopher Sean Lowe was born and grew up in Blackpool, England. He went to Arnold School. Music was a big part of his family. His grandfather played the trombone in a comedy jazz band called The Nitwits. His mother was a dancer, and his father could play the piano by ear.
Chris learned to play the trombone and piano himself. He was part of his school's orchestra and dance band. He even studied music as a main subject in high school.
How Chris Started Playing Music
Chris played the trombone in a dance band called One Under the Eight. This band played popular songs like "Hello Dolly" and "La Bamba". He also joined the Musicians' Union with them. Chris also played in a local brass band and briefly played keyboards for a school rock band called Stallion.
Chris Lowe's College Days
In 1978, Chris began studying architecture at the University of Liverpool. In 1981, while working at an architecture office in London, he designed a staircase for a building. It was during this time that he met Neil Tennant in a music shop in London.
Even as their music career began, Chris continued his architecture studies. He earned a degree in architecture. However, he decided to focus on the Pet Shop Boys full-time with Neil Tennant in 1985. He did not complete the final steps to become a qualified architect.

What is the Pet Shop Boys Duo?
In the Pet Shop Boys, Chris Lowe usually plays the keyboards. Sometimes, he also speaks or sings parts of songs. He even sings the main vocals on a few songs, like "Paninaro".
Chris also played the trombone on the song "I Want a Lover." You can even see him playing his trombone in the music video for the song "What Have I Done to Deserve This?"

Music for Ian Wright
In 1993, Chris wrote and produced a song called "Do the Right Thing" for the famous Arsenal football player Ian Wright. The song included backing vocals from Sylvia Mason-James, who often sang with the Pet Shop Boys.
Cameo in Neighbours
Two years later, in 1995, Chris made a short appearance in the Australian TV show Neighbours. He filmed his part while the Pet Shop Boys were on tour in Australia in 1994.
Music for Advertisements and Plays
In 2004, Chris was asked to create music for an advertisement for a sunscreen brand called Blockhead. A remixed version of this song later appeared on a music collection called "Café Mambo."
Chris also wrote the music for a song called "Streets of Berlin." This song was featured in a 2006 play called Bent in London.
Singing on "Subculture"
In 2011, Chris Lowe sang on a cover version of the New Order song "Subculture" by a group called Stop Modernists. This was the first time he had sung on a music project that was not with the Pet Shop Boys.
