Chrissy's Island Family is a special music album by the famous Torres Strait Islander singer Christine Anu. It was her fifth studio album and her very first album made especially for children. It also visited schools in New South Wales in August of that year, even when Christine Anu herself wasn't performing in it.
Awards and Recognition
Chrissy's Island Family was recognized for its great music for kids. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2007, which are big music awards in Australia, the album was nominated for 'Best Children's Album'.
Even though it didn't win, being nominated was a big honor. The award that year went to another popular children's music group, The Wiggles, for their album Pop Go the Wiggles!.
