Christian Farla, a master of illusion

Christian Farla (born May 5, 1970) is a Dutch magician from Rotterdam. He is famous for his amazing illusions. Christian has won the prestigious Merlin Award twice, in 2006 and 2009.

Christian Farla: Master of Illusion

Christian Farla was born in Rotterdam on May 5, 1970. When he was just 12 years old, he won the Dutch Junior Championships for Stage Magic. This big win made him decide to become a professional illusionist. During his school holidays, he traveled with the circus. This helped him learn how to perform for large crowds.

Early Life and Magic Journey

In 1992, Christian met Bianca, who would become his partner and magic assistant. She was a dancer in the same show where he was performing. They later had a son, who was born on August 19, 2008.

Christian and Bianca became a successful magic duo. They won first prize in the Dutch Magic Championships three times: in 1993, 1999, and 2001. In 1996, they got their first major contract with Vd Ende Events. This allowed them to perform in many big shows in the Studios in Aalsmeer.

Big Shows and Awards

After winning the Henk Vermeyden Trophy, Christian Farla signed a contract for 80 shows. These shows were part of the Sunflower Foundation Tour. During this time, Frank Wentink noticed their talent. He offered them a spot in a grand dinner show in Hilversum.

When famous magician Hans Klok left The Amazing Efteling Show, Christian Farla took over his role. This show was at The Efteling amusement park. Christian created new illusions for the show. In 2003, he won an award for Best Show in an Amusement Park Worldwide.

After performing over 2000 shows in Studio 21 and The Efteling, Christian and Bianca were invited to Las Vegas. This invitation came from the legendary Siegfried and Roy. This visit led to them exchanging magic acts. For example, Christian learned the Drill of Death illusion. He also performed an illusion where an assistant seemed to float through a steel plate.

In 2006, Christian Farla started his first big tour in Holland. The International Magicians Society gave him the Merlin Award for Magician of the Year. In 2007, he also received the Champion d’Europe de Magie in Paris. For three years, he performed during summer holidays at the Drievliet amusement park. In 2009, he moved to the larger Walibi World Themepark. There, in April 2009, Christian received his second Merlin Award.

Christian also auditioned for the eighth season of Britain's Got Talent.
