Christian Ramos: Peru's Football Star
Christian Ramos has had a long and exciting career in football. He started playing in Peru and later moved to clubs in other countries. He is most famous for helping his national team, Peru, qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Early Days and Club Journey
Christian Ramos began his football journey at a young age. He joined a big club called Sporting Cristal when he was just 13.
Playing for Sporting Cristal
Ramos started playing for Sporting Cristal's main team in 2007. By 2008, he was a key player, helping his team play 47 games. His strong defense helped Sporting Cristal qualify for the 2009 Copa Libertadores, a major South American club tournament. He left the club in 2009.
Success with Universidad San Martín
After leaving Sporting Cristal, Ramos joined Club Deportivo Universidad de San Martín de Porres (USMP). This was a very successful time for him. In 2010, USMP won the 2010 Torneo Descentralizado, which is Peru's top football league. This win also meant they qualified for the 2011 Copa Libertadores. His great playing caught the eye of the Peru national football team coach, and he was called up to play for his country for the first time.
Dream of Alianza Lima
In 2011, Ramos signed with Alianza Lima, the club he loved as a child. He played a big part in helping Alianza Lima almost win the league title that year. He even scored three goals in 17 games. However, they lost in the final series to Juan Aurich. Ramos almost moved to clubs in Argentina and Portugal, but it didn't work out.
Juan Aurich and Big Games
After two seasons with Alianza Lima, Ramos joined Juan Aurich. It was interesting because Juan Aurich was the team that beat Alianza Lima in the 2011 final. In 2014, Ramos found himself in another league final, but his team, Juan Aurich, lost to his first club, Sporting Cristal. He scored one goal in that final series. He also played in the 2015 Copa Libertadores, where he showed his skills against big teams like River Plate from Argentina.
Playing Abroad: Argentina and Ecuador
In 2016, Christian Ramos moved to Argentina to play for Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata. This was his first time playing for a club outside of Peru. He stayed there for one season. After that, he went on loan to Emelec, a big club in Ecuador. He played well there, helping Emelec reach the round of sixteen in the 2017 Copa Libertadores.
Adventures in Mexico and Saudi Arabia
In 2018, Ramos joined C.D. Veracruz in Mexico. He played alongside other Peruvian teammates there. However, the club faced financial problems, and he left. Later that year, he moved to Saudi Arabia to play for Al-Nassr. He played ten games for the club.
Back in Peru: Melgar and Universitario
Ramos returned to Peru in 2019, first on loan to FBC Melgar. Later that year, he joined Universitario de Deportes. He played in the 2019 Copa Bicentenario for Universitario, but received a red card early in his debut game. After one season, he left the club.
Leading Universidad César Vallejo
In late 2019, Ramos signed with Club Deportivo Universidad César Vallejo. He was a very important player for them, helping the team qualify for the 2021 Copa Libertadores.
Recent Clubs: Alianza Lima, Sport Boys, Deportivo Garcilaso, and Alianza Universidad
After his time at Universidad César Vallejo, Ramos returned to Alianza Lima for the 2022-2023 seasons. In 2023, he played for Sport Boys. In 2024, he joined Deportivo Garcilaso before returning to Sport Boys. As of 2025, he is playing for Alianza Universidad.
