Christie Repasy (born December 19, 1958) is an American artist from Maywood, California. She is famous for her beautiful floral paintings. Christie is especially known for her Victorian-style art and her furniture painted with flowers.

Early Life and Art Education

Christie Repasy started painting when she was very young, in second grade. By age 14, she was already painting furniture for her friends and neighbors. She won her first award in a high school art contest at Edison High School. This school is located in Huntington Beach, California.

She loved painting soft, French-style roses on canvases and furniture. Later, she studied oil painting at Irvine Valley College. There, she learned from another artist named Chris Gwaltney.

Christie Repasy's Art Career

Christie began selling her artwork when she was 28 years old. She often uses old frames and even ceiling-fan tiles to frame her art. This gives her pieces a unique and vintage look.

Her painted furniture and special painting style were featured in Somerset Home magazine in 2010. She has also appeared in Romantic Homes Magazine several times. These appearances were in 2004, 2009, 2010, and 2011. Romantic Country Magazine also mentioned her work in 2008 and 2011.

In 2006, the Orange County Register newspaper wrote about her. They explained how she uses the "shabby chic" style in her art. In 2012, Today's Vintage Magazine wrote a "Spotlight" article about her original artwork.

Christie finds old and vintage furniture pieces at flea markets. She then paints beautiful floral designs on them. This turns the old furniture into unique pieces of art. HGTV, a TV channel, featured her in 2004 on their "Country Style" show. They said her "timeless flower paintings hang in homes around the country." She also appeared on Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic show on the Style Network. Some people have compared Christie's art to the work of artist Paul De Longpre.

Christie Repasy's art has been shown at the Laguna Beach Art Festival. She also took part in its 75th anniversary festival.

Personal Life and Events

Christie hosts a special event called Chateau de Fleurs. This is a marketplace where other artists sell their work. It happens four times a year at her home in Fallbrook, California. She also has a home and art studio in Laguna Beach.
