Christina Clemons (born May 29, 1990) is a talented American track and field athlete. She is best known for racing in the 100 meters hurdles event. Christina won a silver medal in the 60 meters hurdles at the 2018 World Indoor Championships. Her time of 7.73 seconds in that race was one of the fastest ever!

Early Life and School Athletics
Christina grew up in Waldorf, Maryland. She went to Westlake High School. After high school, Christina attended Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She became a very successful college athlete there.
Amazing College Achievements
While at Ohio State, Christina won many awards. She was a 2-time NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) champion. She also won the Big Ten Championship 10 times. She was named an All-American 11 times. In 2012, she was even named the Big Ten Athlete of the Year.
Christina still holds several school records at Ohio State. These include records in the 60m dash, 60m hurdles, 100m hurdles, and the 4x100m relay. She helped Ohio State win three team titles at the Big Ten Championships. These wins were in 2011 (indoor and outdoor) and 2012 (outdoor). These were the first team titles in the school's history for track and field.
Christina is known as the most successful female athlete in Ohio State University's history. While still in college, she competed in the 2012 Olympic trials. She finished 5th, even ahead of future Olympic and World Champions!
Professional Track Career
After college, Christina faced a big challenge. She had a serious injury to her right Achilles tendon. Many people thought this injury would end her career. But Christina worked hard and returned to racing four years later, in 2017.
Returning Strong
In 2017, Christina made an amazing comeback. She won many indoor races. She even beat Olympic Champion Sally Pearson in the 60m hurdles. Later that year, she earned a spot on the U.S. team for the 2017 IAAF World Championships. This team is one of the hardest to join.
At the World Championships, Christina did very well. She won her heat and semifinal races. In the final, she just missed winning a medal. She finished very close behind the world record holder, Kendra Harrison. After the championships, she set a new personal best time of 12.54 seconds. She ended her first year back as the 4th best hurdler in the world.
Winning Medals
In 2018, Christina continued her success. She won the World Indoor Tour in Madrid. This win earned her an automatic spot on the World Indoor team. On March 3, 2018, Christina Clemons won her first international medal. She became the 2018 World Indoor silver medalist! Later that year, she also won a silver medal at the USATF championships.
In 2019, Christina had one of her best seasons. She finished in the top 3 in almost every competition. She also won her first Diamond League race in Oslo, Norway. At the USA Championships, she had a small mistake. She clipped a hurdle in the final race. This caused her to lose her spot for the World Championships. Even so, she finished 2019 ranked 6th in the world.
Christina won the World Indoor Tour again in 2020. This made her the only hurdler in history to win the tour two times in a row! This win also gave her a spot at the World Indoor Championships in China.
In August 2023, Christina moved to Austin, Texas. She joined a new training group there. In March 2024, she competed in the World Athletics Indoor Championships. She placed 10th in the 60 meters hurdles.
