The Church of St James The Less is an old church located in Foxcote, a small place in Somerset, England. It was mostly rebuilt in the early 1700s, but it still has a bell tower from the 1400s! This church is considered a very important historical building, known as a Grade II* listed building. This means it's a special building protected for its history and architecture.
A Look Inside
The church is named after James the Less, who was one of Jesus's apostles. Inside the church, you can find a special table called an altar. This altar is from the Jacobean period, which means it was made between 1603 and 1625, when King James I ruled England. It's a really old piece of furniture!
Services and Community
Church services are held at St. James' Church Foxcote every year from Easter Sunday until the end of October. During the colder months, from November to Palm Sunday, the services move to a chapel in a nearby village called Shoscombe.
