The Church of St Nonna is a historic church in Bradstone, Devon, England. It was built a very long time ago, in the 12th century. This means it's over 800 years old!

The church is considered a special building. It is a Grade I listed building. This means it's very important and protected because of its history and architecture. The church is now looked after by the Churches Conservation Trust. They help save old churches that are no longer used for regular services. The church is named after a saint called Saint Nonna.

What Makes the Church Special?

The church has a special design inside. It has an arcade in its north side. An arcade is a row of arches supported by columns. The tall tower at the west end of the church was added later, in the 15th century.

Some parts of the church are even older. The stone patterns, called tracery, in the south wall of the main part of the church (the chancel) might be from 1261. This was when Bishop Walter Branscombe officially opened the church.

A Very Old Resident

Outside the church tower, there is a stone dedicated to a man named John Coumbe. People say he lived for a very long time, from 1484 to 1604! This means he lived through the entire time the Tudor dynasty ruled England. The Tudor dynasty was a famous family of kings and queens, like King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I.
