Ciena Alipio was born on March 7, 2004. She is a talented American artistic gymnast. Ciena was once a member of the United States women's national gymnastics team. Today, she competes in college gymnastics for the UCLA Bruins.

Ciena's Early Life
Ciena Alipio was born in 2004 in San Jose, California. Her parents are Linda and Dante Alipio. She has one brother named Eric. Ciena's mother's family comes from the Navajo Nation.
Ciena's Gymnastics Journey
Starting Out: 2015–2016
In 2015, Ciena was part of the Junior Olympic Program. She also took part in special "HOPEs" competitions. These events help young gymnasts get ready for higher levels. At the 2015 HOPES Championships, Ciena did very well. She finished first on the balance beam. She also placed second in the all-around competition and on the floor exercise.
In 2016, Ciena continued to shine. She competed at the Junior Olympic National Championships. There, she earned a second-place finish on the floor exercise. She also won first place in the all-around at the 2016 Hopes Classic. At the 2016 Hopes Championships, she again placed first on balance beam. She also finished second in the all-around.
Becoming an Elite Gymnast: 2017–2018
In 2017, Ciena reached "junior elite" status. This means she was ready to compete at a very high level. She made her elite debut at the American Classic. Later that year, she competed at the 2017 U.S. Classic. She also took part in the 2017 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships.
In 2018, Ciena competed at the American Classic again. She also went to the 2018 U.S. Classic. In August, Ciena competed at the 2018 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships. She finished sixteenth in the all-around. But she won a silver medal on the balance beam. This was a great achievement for her!
Competing Internationally: 2019
In February 2019, Ciena was chosen for her first international competition. She went to the 2019 City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy. This was a big step for her career. Because of this, she joined the junior national team.
In Italy, Ciena helped the USA team win a silver medal. Individually, she won a silver medal on balance beam. She also earned a bronze medal on vault.
Later in 2019, Ciena competed at the American Classic. She won gold medals in the all-around and on uneven bars. She also placed second on balance beam. In July, Ciena competed at the U.S. Classic. She finished fifth in the all-around. She also won a silver medal on the balance beam.
Senior Level and Beyond: 2021–2022
In November 2021, Ciena made her debut as a senior international gymnast. She competed at the Arthur Gander Memorial in Switzerland. She placed third in the three-event all-around competition.
In August 2022, Ciena competed at the National Championships. She finished second on balance beam, earning another silver medal.
Collegiate Gymnastics Career
Joining the UCLA Bruins: 2022–2023 Season
Ciena Alipio began her college gymnastics career in January 2023. She made her first appearance for the UCLA Bruins at the Super 16 Invitational. She continues to compete for UCLA, showing her skills on the balance beam.
