Cileni facts for kids
The Celeni (sometimes called Cileni) were an old Celtic tribe who lived a long time ago in a region called Gallaecia. This area is now the western part of Galicia in Spain.
The Celeni had their main town, or civitas, called Aquae Celenae. This town was located in the area of Caldas de Reis. When the powerful Romans took control of the region, Aquae Celenae became an important religious center, known as a diocese. It was also part of a larger Roman district called Conventus Lucensis, whose main city is now known as Lugo.
