Ciudad Bugambilias facts for kids
Ciudad Bugambilias is a special neighborhood in Zapopan, a city near Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico. It's a private community, meaning it has its own gates and security.
It was started in 1975. This neighborhood was one of the first in the south of the city to focus on having lots of green spaces. It's surrounded by the protected Cerro del Tajo forest and part of the Primavera Forest. Many successful and well-known families live here.
You can enter Ciudad Bugambilias mainly from Avenida López Mateos. The area is watched over by a new security system called C5. This system works with both state and private police.
Geography
Ciudad Bugambilias is split into two parts. The first part is at the bottom of the forest plateau. The second part is on the hill right next to the forest. This higher section offers great views of the city.
The second, panoramic section has the best air quality. This is because it is very close to the forest.
The green areas in Ciudad Bugambilias are very important for nature. Because of their ecological value, building new things in these areas has been limited since 2018. Several important groups protect these green spaces. These include the INAH, SEMARNAT, SCT, and the government of Jalisco state.
