Cláudio's Club Journey

Starting Out and Tondela Years

Cláudio Ramos was born in Vila Nova de Paiva, Portugal. He started playing football in his hometown for Académico de Viseu F.C. when he was young. Later, in 2007, he moved to Vitória S.C..

He didn't play any senior games for Vitória. Instead, he was loaned to other clubs like Amarante F.C. and C.D. Tondela. He joined Tondela permanently after they won promotion from the third division in the 2011–12 season.

Reaching the Top League with Tondela

Tondela made it to the Primeira Liga, Portugal's top football league, for the first time in the 2014–15 season. Cláudio made his first appearance in this league on October 30, 2015. This happened in a game against S.L. Benfica after another goalkeeper got injured.

Cláudio quickly became a fan favorite. Supporters voted him as the Player of the Year for the 2015–16 season.

In the 2017–18 season, Cláudio played in all 34 league matches. His last game that season was his 200th for Tondela. This made him the player with the second-most appearances in the club's history. He also made the most saves in the league that year, with 126 saves. He even saved three penalty kicks.

Cláudio set a new record for Tondela. From April 9, 2017, to February 9, 2020, he started 94 league games in a row. He later extended this amazing streak to 103 consecutive starts. Cláudio left Tondela when his contract ended after the 2019–20 season.

Joining FC Porto

On August 13, 2020, Cláudio Ramos signed a four-year contract with FC Porto. Porto was the defending champion of the league at that time.

He first played for Porto's reserve team, FC Porto B, in a game that ended in a 1–1 draw. Cláudio helped the main Porto team win the Primeira Liga title in the 2021–22 season. He started in the final match of that season, where Porto won 2–0 at home.

Playing for Portugal

Cláudio Ramos made his first appearance for the Portuguese national team on October 14, 2018. This was in a friendly game against Scotland at Hampden Park. He came into the game as a substitute for the last four minutes. Portugal won the match 3–1.
