Claire Antonia Forlani (born 17 December 1971) is an English actress known for her roles in movies and television shows. She became famous in the 1990s for starring in the comedy film Mallrats and the drama Basquiat.
In 1998, she gained worldwide fame for her role in the popular fantasy movie Meet Joe Black. Some of her other well-known films include Mystery Men (1999), Antitrust (2001), and The Medallion (2003). She has also appeared in many TV series, such as Camelot, CSI: NY, and NCIS: Los Angeles. More recently, she played Meredith Newman in the 2019 movie Five Feet Apart.

Early Life and Training
Claire Forlani was born in Twickenham, a part of London, England. Her mother, Barbara, was English, and her father, Pier Luigi Forlani, was a music manager from Italy.
When she was 11, Forlani started studying at the Arts Educational School in London. This special school helped her develop her acting skills. For six years, she also studied ballet. Her dance training led to her performing on stage in famous ballets like The Nutcracker and Orpheus in the Underworld.
Acting Career
In 1993, Forlani's family moved to San Francisco, California, so she could find more acting opportunities in Hollywood. Soon after, she was cast in the TV mini-series JFK: Reckless Youth and the movie Police Academy: Mission to Moscow (1994).
Breakthrough in the 1990s
Forlani's career took off in the mid-1990s. In 1995, she played the role of Brandi Svenning in the comedy Mallrats. The next year, she acted alongside Sean Connery as his daughter in the action movie The Rock.
She also appeared in the 1996 film Basquiat, about the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Her biggest role of the decade came in 1998 when she starred with Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins in Meet Joe Black. This movie made her a well-known actress around the world. She ended the 1990s by starring in the superhero comedy Mystery Men (1999).

In the 2000s, Forlani continued to act in a variety of films. She starred in the romantic comedy Boys and Girls (2000) and the thriller Antitrust (2001). In 2003, she co-starred with action star Jackie Chan in The Medallion. She also appeared in the drama Green Street Hooligans (2005) with Elijah Wood.
During this time, Forlani also began working more in television. From 2006 to 2010, she had a recurring role as Dr. Peyton Driscoll, a medical examiner, in the popular crime series CSI: NY.

Forlani has remained active in both film and television. In 2011, she played Queen Igraine in the historical fantasy series Camelot. She also had a recurring role as Agent Lauren Hunter on NCIS: Los Angeles from 2011 to 2012.
From 2016 to 2017, she played Alicia Brown, a retired criminal profiler, on the show Hawaii Five-0. In 2019, she appeared in the popular teen drama Five Feet Apart.
Personal Life
On 8 June 2007, Claire Forlani married Scottish actor Dougray Scott. They have one son, Milo, whom they adopted.
In 2017, Forlani showed courage by speaking out about a negative experience she had with a powerful producer in Hollywood.
