Stephen Dougray Scott, born on November 26, 1965, is a talented actor from Scotland. He has starred in many popular films like Ever After (1998), Mission: Impossible 2 (2000), and Hitman (2007). Dougray Scott has won important awards for his acting. He received an International Emmy Award for Best Actor and a BAFTA for his role in the Scottish TV show Crime (2021).

Early Life and Education
Dougray Scott was born in Glenrothes, a town in Fife, Scotland. His mother, Elma, worked as a nurse. His father, Alan Scott, was a traveling salesman and had also been an actor. Dougray Scott studied acting at Fife College in Kirkcaldy.
Acting Career Highlights
Dougray Scott started his acting journey in theatre, television, and even puppet shows. His first TV role was in Soldier Soldier. He then made his big screen debut in the film Twin Town.
Early Film Roles
Some of his first major movie roles included playing Prince Henry in Ever After. He also starred in Enigma, a film based on a novel. A very well-known role was playing the villain in Mission: Impossible 2. The famous actor Tom Cruise chose him for this part.
Missing Out on Wolverine
Dougray Scott was originally chosen to play Wolverine in the X-Men movie. However, filming for Mission: Impossible 2 took longer than planned. He also had a motorbike accident during a chase scene. Because of these issues, he had to leave the X-Men project. The role of Wolverine then went to Hugh Jackman.
Later Roles and TV Success
After 2002, Dougray Scott was considered to be the next James Bond. This was for the movie Casino Royale. However, the role eventually went to Daniel Craig.
In 2006, he played Moses in the TV miniseries The Ten Commandments. He also appeared in the TV show Desperate Housewives from 2006 to 2007. In this show, he played a new love interest for Teri Hatcher's character. In 2007, he was the main bad guy in the movie Hitman. This film was based on a popular video game series. He also played the main character in a modern version of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
In 2009, he starred in the TV drama Father & Son. He also appeared in The Day of the Triffids, which was shown on BBC One. In 2011, he was in the film Love's Kitchen with his wife, Claire Forlani. He also played football manager Matt Busby in the BBC TV drama United. This film was about the Munich air disaster of 1958. In 2013, he was a guest star in the Doctor Who episode "Hide".
In 2014, Dougray Scott played the main villain in the movie Taken 3. In 2016, he joined the TV series Fear the Walking Dead. He played Thomas Abigail, a business partner and lover of Victor Strand. From 2019 to 2021, he was part of the CW series Batwoman. He played Jacob Kane, who is the father of the main character. He later left the series.
Most recently, he starred in the show Crime. For this role, he won a BAFTA and an International Emmy Award. In 2025, he is set to appear in the Netflix movie Exterritorial.
Personal Life
Dougray Scott has twins from his first marriage to Sarah Trevis. On June 8, 2007, he married actress Claire Forlani in Italy. They have a son, who was born on December 27, 2014.
He is a big fan of Hibernian Football Club, a football team. This is because one of his great-uncles was a scout for the team. Three of his mother's great-uncles were football referees. Tom Dougray was the most well-known among them.

Dougray Scott supports Scottish independence. He believes that Scotland can manage itself and has a unique view of the world. He thinks having its own government would be better for the country.
