About Claire Renard
Claire Renard was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, on December 10, 1944. When she was younger, she studied piano and law in Paris. In 1973, she graduated from the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris, which is a very famous music school. After her studies, she taught piano. She also started composing, which means writing, music. She created both classical music and special "electroacoustic" pieces. These pieces use electronic sounds and recordings to make new kinds of music. She also made "sound installations," which are like art exhibits where sounds are the main focus.
Claire's Artistic Journey
Claire Renard has been invited to work as a composer in many different places. This is called being a "composer-in-residence." It means she gets to live and create music in a specific theater or art center for a while. She has worked at places like the Theatre of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (1994–1996) and the National Conservatory of Grenoble (1999) in France.
