Claire Renard (born 10 December 1944) is a French composer and multimedia artist. She creates unique music and art using electronic sounds and recordings.
About Claire Renard
Claire Renard was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. She loved music from a young age and studied piano in Paris. She also studied law. In 1973, she graduated from a very famous music school in Paris, the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris.
After finishing her studies, Claire became a piano teacher. She also started composing her own music. She became known for creating both classical music and special "electroacoustic" pieces. These are works that combine traditional music with electronic sounds.
Claire has been a "composer-in-residence" at many places. This means she was invited to work and create new music at a specific theater or art center for a period of time. She worked at the Theatre of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines in France (1994–1996) and at the Montalvo Art Center in California, USA (2006). These special invitations allowed her to develop many new and exciting projects.
Her Achievements
Claire Renard has received several important awards for her creative work. These awards recognize her talent and contributions to music and art:

What She Creates
Claire Renard is famous for her electro-acoustic works. These are pieces of music that use electronic sounds, recordings, and sometimes live instruments. She creates them for music performances and also for "sound installations." A sound installation is like an art exhibit, but instead of paintings or sculptures, it uses sounds arranged in a space for people to experience.
Her unique works have been shown and performed in many countries. These include France, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Finland, and Greece.
Some of her well-known works include:
- The Winds Of Time
- The Folds of the Sky
- I Need
- Take Me
- It Never Ceases to Die of this Said
- Summer Shorts
- A Roar of his Laughter
- Octave
- Air Dance
- Valley Closed
- Sand & Uncertainty
