Claiton Alberto Fontoura dos Santos, known simply as Claiton, is a Brazilian football coach and former player. He was born on January 25, 1978. Claiton played as a midfielder during his career. After retiring as a player, he became a football manager.

Claiton's Playing Journey
Claiton started his football journey in the youth teams of Internacional in 1995. He then played for several clubs in Brazil and even in other countries.
Early Career in Brazil
Claiton began his professional career with Bahia in 1997. He later returned to Internacional, where he played from 1998 to 1999. He also played for Vitória in 2000.
Playing in Europe and Asia
In 2001, Claiton moved to Europe to play for Servette in Switzerland. After that, he returned to Internacional for a few more years (2002-2003). In 2004, he joined Santos in Brazil. Later that year, he moved to Japan to play for Nagoya Grampus Eight, where he stayed until 2005.
Later Years and Retirement
Claiton continued his career back in Brazil with clubs like Botafogo in 2006 and Flamengo in 2007. He also played for Atlético Paranaense. From 2008 to 2009, he played for Consadole Sapporo in Japan again. He finished his playing career with a few more Brazilian clubs, including Pelotas and Novo Hamburgo in 2012, and Passo Fundo and Alecrim in 2013.
Claiton's Coaching Career
After his playing days, Claiton decided to become a football manager. He started coaching in 2016.
Managing Different Teams
Claiton managed Aimoré from 2016 to 2017. In 2018, he coached São Paulo-RS. He then moved to Cruzeiro-RS in 2019. Since 2020, Claiton has been the coach for Porto Velho.
