Herman Stevens Jr. (born June 17, 1965) is an American lawyer. He is also known for his time as a professional wrestling manager. He was famous for playing a lawyer character, known as Clarence Mason in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Later, he was called J. Biggs in World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

Meet Clarence Mason!

Herman Stevens Jr. always dreamed of being part of the wrestling world. When he was in college, he tried to get a job with WCW, but it didn't work out. Later, while studying law at the Southern University Law Center, he met a famous wrestler named Ernie Ladd. Ernie helped him get a meeting with the WWF. This meeting led to Herman signing a contract with the WWF.

Early Life and Dreams

From a young age, Herman Stevens Jr. was fascinated by professional wrestling. He wanted to be a performer in the wrestling industry. His journey to the wrestling world began during his college years. He even tried to get an internship with a wrestling company called WCW.

Wrestling Adventures

Herman Stevens Jr. joined the WWF in 1995. He took on the character, or "gimmick," of Clarence Mason. This character was a lawyer. His name was a mix of two famous lawyers, Clarence Darrow and Perry Mason. His speaking style was similar to a well-known lawyer named Johnnie Cochran.

Starting in WWF

Clarence Mason first appeared as the lawyer for Jim Cornette. Cornette was trying to change a decision from a wrestling event. His wrestlers, Yokozuna and the British Bulldog, had lost their WWF Tag Team Championship. After this, Mason continued to work with Cornette and his group of wrestlers, called a "stable."

Joining New Groups

In August 1996, Clarence Mason left Cornette's group. He then became the manager for a wrestler named Crush. Crush had faced some legal issues, and Mason acted as his lawyer in the wrestling storyline. Later that year, Mason started managing Faarooq. Together, they formed a new group called The Nation of Domination. This group was known for being a powerful team in wrestling.

Mason also managed Owen Hart and the British Bulldog for a while. However, the Bulldog fired him in March 1997. In June 1997, Faarooq also "fired" Mason from the Nation of Domination. Herman Stevens Jr. later shared that he asked to leave the group. He was also written off TV and left the WWF.

Moving to WCW

In 1999, Herman Stevens Jr. showed up in WCW. He used a new name, J. Biggs. He first managed a wrestler named Chris Kanyon. After a few months, Kanyon stopped working with Biggs.

Biggs then found new clients: a tag team called Harlem Heat 2000. This team included Stevie Ray and Big T. They had a rivalry with Booker T. In a wrestling storyline, Biggs even got a special court order. This order said Booker T could not use the letter "T" after losing a match to Big T. Soon after this, Biggs left WCW and professional wrestling.

Life After Wrestling

After leaving the world of professional wrestling, Herman Stevens Jr. went back to his first job. He became a practicing attorney again. He now works as a lawyer in Delray Beach.
