The Story of Claridon
Claridon has an interesting past! It was originally going to be called "Burlington." However, there was already another town named Burlington in Ohio. To avoid confusion, the name was changed to Claridon.
A post office was opened in Claridon in 1819. This was a very important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years before it closed down in 1906. No one is quite sure where the name "Claridon" actually came from, making its origin a bit of a mystery!
