Clark's Island is a small island located in Duxbury Bay in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. It was named after John Clark, who was the first mate on the famous ship, the Mayflower. This ship brought the Pilgrims to New England.
The Pilgrims first thought about building their settlement on Clark's Island. However, they decided to settle a bit further south. This new settlement became the town of Plymouth, Massachusetts. Today, Clark's Island is still a part of Plymouth.
