Clark Middleton's Acting Journey

Clark Middleton's acting career began when he took a $15 acting class with friends. This happened at a junior college in California. After doing some theater in Los Angeles, he moved to New York City. There, he studied acting with a famous teacher named Geraldine Page.

His first role in a film was in 1983. It was a TV movie called Miss Lonelyhearts. In 1997, Middleton wrote a special one-person play. It was called Miracle Mile. This play was about his own experiences living with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. He performed it in New York City and other places in the US.

In the 1990s, Middleton had a repeating role on the TV show Law & Order. He played Ellis, a forensics technician. He also played Edward Markham, a rare book dealer, in the science-fiction series Fringe.

Middleton became a regular cast member on The Blacklist. In this show, he played Glen Carter. Glen was a DMV worker who also worked as a tracker. This role is probably his most well-known. In 2017, he played Charlie in the TV series Twin Peaks: The Return. This show was a sequel to the popular 1990s series Twin Peaks.

His very last performance was in July 2020. He acted in a play called Hughie by Eugene O'Neill. He performed it from his bedroom using Zoom. He played a tired hotel night clerk.

When he was four and a half years old, Clark learned he had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. This is a condition that affects the joints. He once explained how it affected him. He said it first changed his hands. Then, medicine he took made his cheeks puffy. By age 8, he couldn't move his neck well. When he was 15, his hip broke. After an operation, he needed crutches. Later, he used canes after breaking his leg. He remained at a height of 5 ft 4 in (163 cm).

Clark Middleton married Elissa Meyers in 2006.

He passed away on October 4, 2020, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He was 63 years old. His death was due to problems from West Nile virus. He is survived by his wife, Elissa.
