Claudio Cecchetto (born April 19, 1952) is a famous Italian DJ, musician, and record producer. He is best known as a talent scout, which means he has a special skill for discovering new music stars and helping them become famous.

The Start of a Music Legend

Claudio Cecchetto was born in Ceggia, a town near Venice, Italy. His journey into music began when he played the drums for local bands. Soon, he found his passion for being a DJ, also known as a deejay.

He started working at Radio 105 Network, one of the first private radio stations in Italy that could be heard all over the country. His voice and music choices became very popular with listeners.

Creating a Radio Empire

In 1982, Cecchetto decided to start his own radio station called Radio DeeJay. It became a huge success! Two years later, in 1984, he even brought the radio station to television with a show called "Deejay Television" on the Italia 1 channel.

Radio DeeJay wasn't just about playing music. Under Cecchetto's leadership, it became a training ground for future stars. Many famous Italian presenters, like Gerry Scotti, Fiorello, and Fabio Volo, got their start thanks to him. In 1994, Cecchetto left Radio DeeJay and started another station, Radio Capital.

Over the years, he discovered and helped launch the careers of many singers and bands, including:

  • Jovanotti

  • Finley
  • Sandy Marton

Cecchetto was also a musician himself. In 1981, he released a song called "Gioca-Jouer". It was a massive hit in Italy and went straight to the top of the music charts.

A Familiar Face on TV

Besides his work in radio and music production, Cecchetto has been a popular host for many Italian television shows and music festivals. He hosted the famous Sanremo Music Festival three times in a row (1980, 1981, and 1982) and also hosted other big events like Festivalbar.
