Virginio "Gerry" Scotti (born August 7, 1956) is a famous Italian television presenter and actor. He was also a member of the Italian Parliament for a few years.

Gerry Scotti's Early Life

Gerry Scotti was born Virginio Scotti on August 7, 1956, in a small town called Miradolo Terme in Italy. He first started his career as a disc jockey at a radio station called Radio Milano International.

In 1982, he moved to another radio station, Radio DeeJay. A year later, he became the host of DeeJay Television. This was the first Italian TV show that played music videos! Gerry also hosted other music shows, like Festivalbar.

Gerry Scotti's Television Career

Gerry Scotti was a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, which is like a part of the Italian government, from 1987 to 1992. He was part of the Italian Socialist Party.

Since the 1990s, Gerry Scotti has been a very popular TV presenter, mostly on the channel Canale 5. He is especially well-known for hosting quiz shows.

In 2011, Gerry Scotti was mentioned in the Guinness World Records. He earned this honor for being the TV host who presented the most episodes of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?!

Gerry Scotti's Personal Life

Gerry Scotti was married to Patrizia Grosso, and they had a son named Edoardo in 1992. Since 2011, he has been in a relationship with Gabriella Perino. His son, Edoardo, has two children, making Gerry a proud grandfather!

In October 2020, Gerry Scotti got COVID-19 and spent some time in the hospital. Luckily, he fully recovered.
