Clayton, Minnesota facts for kids
Clayton was once a small town located in Seely Township, which is part of Faribault County, Minnesota, in the United States. It was a place that started with hopes of growing but eventually faded away.
History
Clayton had its own post office for many years, from 1860 until 1899. This meant people living there could send and receive mail. However, the town didn't grow as much as people expected. Over time, fewer and fewer people lived there.
Eventually, the buildings that made up Clayton were moved to a nearby town called Bricelyn. By 1977, the only thing left of Clayton was its cemetery, which is a place where people are buried.
