Clayton LeBouef (born November 12, 1954) is an American actor. He is most famous for playing Colonel George Barnfather in the TV show Homicide: Life on the Street. He appeared in many episodes of the show from 1993 to 1999. He also played the same character in Homicide: The Movie in 2000, which finished the show's story.
Life and Career
Clayton LeBouef was born in Yonkers, New York. Before acting on TV, he worked as a stage actor in theaters. Besides acting, LeBouef is also a talented writer and performer. He writes plays and performs spoken-word poetry.
One of his plays, Shero: The Livication of Henrietta Vinton Davis, received an honorable mention at a writers' competition in Washington, D.C. in 2008.
Famous Television Roles
LeBouef has appeared in several popular TV shows created by HBO. In 2000, he was in the miniseries The Corner. Two years later, he played Wendell "Orlando" Blocker in seven episodes of the crime drama The Wire.
In 2004, he played Harold Thomas in the movie Something the Lord Made. Harold was the brother of the main character, Vivien Thomas, who was played by actor Mos Def.
Between 2003 and 2005, LeBouef appeared in three episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. He played Detective Edmunds in two of those episodes.
His performance as a barbershop owner named Tom Taylor in the short film The Doll earned him the "Best Actor" award at the San Diego Black Film Festival.
