Sir Arthur Clive Morrison-Bell, also known as Clive Morrison-Bell, was an important British figure. He was born on April 19, 1871, and passed away on April 16, 1956. He was a brave soldier and later became a politician for the Conservative Party.

The Life of Clive Morrison-Bell

Clive Morrison-Bell was the son of Sir Charles Morrison-Bell. He went to two famous schools: Eton and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. These schools helped him prepare for a career in the military.

Joining the Army and Serving His Country

In 1890, Clive joined the Scots Guards, a famous part of the British Army. He served as a soldier in the Second Boer War in South Africa. This was a big war that happened between 1899 and 1902.

In 1908, he was promoted to the rank of Major. Later that same year, he decided to retire from the army.

Becoming a Member of Parliament

Even after leaving the army, Clive wanted to serve his country. In January 1910, he was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for an area called Honiton. An MP is someone who represents people in the government.

When the First World War started in 1914, Clive rejoined the army. He was captured by the enemy in 1915. He was a prisoner of war until 1918, when he was able to return to England.

Clive Morrison-Bell continued to be the MP for Honiton without a break. He served the people of Honiton until 1931. He retired from his job as an MP because he was not feeling well. In 1923, he was given a special honor and became a Baronet, just like his father. This is a special title given by the King or Queen.

His Family Life

In 1912, Clive Morrison-Bell married Lilah Katherine Julia Wingfield. They had two daughters named Shelagh and Patricia.

Clive Morrison-Bell passed away in 1956. He lived to be 84 years old.
