Clowry is a small place in Marquette County, Michigan. It's known as an "unincorporated community." This means it doesn't have its own official government or exact borders like a city or town. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Champion Township.
A Glimpse into Clowry's Past
Clowry had a post office that opened in 1892. However, it didn't stay open for long. It closed down less than two years later, in 1894.
The community was named after a very important person. His name was Colonel Robert C. Clowry. He was the president of a big company called Western Union. This company was famous for sending telegrams, which were messages sent over long distances using electrical signals.
