The Flag of Bar

The Coat of Arms of Bar is the official symbol of Bar. Bar is a town by the sea in Montenegro. It is also home to Montenegro's main port for ships. This special symbol was chosen on December 15, 2006. A designer named Srđan Marlović created it. He also designed the symbols for other cities like Podgorica and Kotor.

What Does the Coat of Arms Look Like?

The Coat of Arms of Bar has a main shield in the middle. This shield is split into five parts. It looks the same on both its left and right sides.

Colors and Their Meanings

The colors on the shield tell a story about Bar:

  • Blue stands for the water around Bar. This includes the Adriatic Sea and Lake Scutari.
  • Golden (or yellow) shows the towns and villages. These are found near Lake Scutari and in the Crmnica area.
  • Green represents the big mountains. These mountains separate the sea from the lake.

Symbols Around the Shield

The shield has more symbols around it:

  • Wall Crown: On top of the shield is a crown shaped like a city wall. It has three pointed parts called merlons. This crown shows that Bar is an important city.
  • Golden Wolves: Two golden wolves stand on each side of the shield. They are called "supporters" because they look like they are holding the shield up.
  • Olive Branch: A green olive twig is placed below the shield. The olive branch is a symbol of peace and long life.
  • Golden Banner: At the very bottom, there is a golden banner. It has the year "1042" written on it. This year is important because the Battle of Bar happened then. The banner is golden on the front and blue on the back.

The Flag of Bar

The Flag of Bar looks very similar to the Coat of Arms. It uses the same colors and symbols. This helps people easily recognize Bar's official symbols.
