Coates's shark (Carcharhinus coatesi) is a species of requiem shark found off northern Australia (from Shark Bay in Western Australia to Fraser Island in Queensland) and possibly also off the coast of New Guinea.

Description

At birth, it ranges from a size of 380 millimetres (15 in) to 400 millimetres (16 in). As an adult, it can range 89 millimetres (3.5 in) to 813 millimetres (2.667 ft) in length, topping at 870 millimetres (2.85 ft) or 880 millimetres (2.89 ft).

It inhabits the surface to a depth of 123 metres (404 ft).
