Where Was Coca-Cola Citra Sold?
Coca-Cola Citra was first tried out in different countries as a limited edition drink. This means it was only available for a short time.
Mexico and New Zealand Trials
In 2005, both Coca-Cola Citra and a lighter version, Coca-Cola Citra Light, were first introduced in Mexico. This was a test to see if people liked the new flavor.
The drink then had a limited run in New Zealand. It was available during the summer of 2005-2006. It came back for another short time from March to September in 2007.
Release in Japan and the UK
On May 29, 2006, Coca-Cola Citra was released in Japan. It came in different sizes, like 1.5 liter, 500 ml, and 300 ml bottles. However, it was stopped in Japan the very next year.
A diet version of the drink was released in the United Kingdom in 2007. It was called Diet Coke with Citrus Zest. This new drink replaced the older Diet Coke with Lemon and Diet Coke with Lime flavors. In May 2018, Diet Coke with Citrus Zest was also discontinued in the UK. It was replaced by a new flavor, Diet Coke Exotic Mango.
Newer Versions in Jordan
More recently, in 2023, a new version was released in Jordan. This one was called Coca-Cola Zero Calories Lemon-Lime. It is a Zero Sugar variant, meaning it has no sugar or calories.
