The Church's Story
Early Beginnings
When the church first started in 1651, its members met in private houses. This was common for many religious groups at the time. In 1687, they found a more permanent place. They began using a house that was changed to fit their needs. This gave them a dedicated space for worship.
Building Chapels
As the community grew, they needed a bigger building. In 1719, they built their very first chapel. This was an important step for the church. However, buildings sometimes need repairs or updates. So, in 1735, this chapel was rebuilt to make it better.
The Current Building
The church continued to grow and thrive. By the mid-1800s, they needed an even larger space. The current church building was completed in 1850. This beautiful building stands right next to where the old chapel used to be. It is recognized as a Grade II listed building. This means it is an important historical building that needs to be protected.
