Coe is a small, unincorporated community located in Pike County, within Monroe Township, in the U.S. state of Indiana. An unincorporated community is a place that doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does.
The Story of Coe
Did you know that Coe wasn't always called Coe? This community was first known as Arcadia. It was officially planned out and established under that name in the year 1869.
A place where people could send and receive mail, called a post office, opened in Coe in 1896. This was an important way for people to communicate back then. However, the post office only stayed open for a short time, closing down in 1907.
