Colonel Freckles was a famous Quarter Horse stallion. He was known as a top cutting horse. A cutting horse is a special horse trained to separate one cow from a herd. Colonel Freckles earned over $46,000 in contests held by the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA). After his successful career, he became a breeding stallion. He passed away in October 1986.
Colonel Freckles had many famous children. Some of his well-known offspring include Nu Cash, Doc Jewl Bar, Reveille Bar, and Just Plain Colonel. His legacy lives on through these horses.
A Hall of Fame Horse
Colonel Freckles was a very special horse. Because of his great achievements, he was honored in 2004. He was added to the AQHA Hall of Fame. This is a special place that celebrates the best Quarter Horses in history.
