How Horses and People Get Nominated
Anyone can suggest a person or a horse to be considered for the Hall of Fame. If you want to nominate someone, you need to send in your ideas by November 1st.
After that, a special committee looks at all the nominations. They meet in March to decide. A nomination stays active for three years. If it's not chosen, it has to wait three years before it can be suggested again. People can be nominated whether they are alive or have passed away. But horses must have passed away to be considered.
