History of Columbia
Columbia was first planned and settled in 1832. It got its name from Columbia Township, which is the larger area it's part of.
A post office opened in Columbia in 1833. This helped people send and receive mail. The post office stayed open for many years but closed down in 1903.

Columbia is a very small place. It only has three main roads. These roads are South County Road, West Columbia Road, and West Monroe Street.
