Columpa Bobb's Career in Arts
Columpa Bobb grew up in Vancouver, Canada. She has written more than a dozen plays. These plays have been shown across Canada and in other countries.
Notable Plays and TV Roles
One of her plays is Jumping Mouse. She wrote it with Marion deVries. This play was made for young audiences. It was nominated for two awards: a Dora Mavor Moore Award and a James Buller Award.
Many people know Columpa from her role as Mary Cook. She played this character on the CBC Television show North of 60. She also appeared in the TV series The Rez. In 1997, she won a Jessie Richardson Theatre Award. This award was for her great acting in a play called Only ... and Children Tell the Truth.
Teaching and Mentorship
Columpa Bobb has also been a cultural instructor. She taught at the Centre for Indigenous Theatre in Toronto. Currently, she is a Program Director and teacher. She works at the Manitoba Theatre for Young People in Winnipeg.
Her program helps about 325 students each year. It is free for everyone who joins. Columpa also teaches for the Circus and Magic Partnership (CAMP) program. This program is part of the Winnipeg International Children's Festival.
In 2019, Columpa Bobb acted in a play called The Unnatural and Accidental Women. This play was shown at the National Arts Centre.

Columpa Bobb is also a poet. Her latest poetry book is called Hope Matters. She wrote this book with her mother, Lee Maracle, and her sister, Tania Carter. The book was published in 2019.
