Combs is a small, quiet community located in the southern part of Madison County, Arkansas. It's not a city with its own government, but rather an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and businesses that are part of the larger county. Combs is nestled within the beautiful Ozark-St. Francis National Forest, close to the upper part of the White River.

Combs is located in the state of Arkansas, in the United States. You can find it in the southern part of Madison County. The community is right on Arkansas Highway 16. Another road, AR 295, ends right there.
Combs is surrounded by nature. It's inside the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest. This means there are lots of trees and wildlife nearby. Just south of Combs, you'll find the upper part of the White River. Another small community called Brashears is about two miles east on Highway 16.
A Look at Combs' History
The community of Combs got its own post office in 1888. This was an important step for the area. Combs was named after one of its first settlers. His name was Captain Hiram Hite Combs. He lived from 1832 to 1917.
