Commerce Township is a special kind of town called a charter township. It is located in Oakland County, in the state of Michigan, United States. In 2020, about 43,058 people lived here.
Commerce Township is a western suburb of Metro Detroit. It is about 32 miles (51 km) northwest of the big city of Detroit. The cities of Walled Lake and Wixom are to its south. The small village of Wolverine Lake is also inside the township.
This area was first known as a vacation spot. Now, many people live here permanently. They love its natural feel and many outdoor places. A big part of Proud Lake State Recreation Area is in the township. The Huron River flows through the area. There are also many lakes here.
A highway called M-5 ends in Commerce Township. This road was planned to connect other major highways. But building it was too hard because of all the lakes and valuable land. So, the project was stopped.

Commerce Township covers about 29.90 square miles (77.44 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 27.45 square miles (71.09 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 2.45 square miles (6.35 square kilometers), is water. This means a good part of the township is made up of lakes and rivers.

- David Hahn was a teenager who built a small, experimental device in his backyard. This event became very famous and a book was written about it called The Radioactive Boy Scout.
- Connor Hellebuyck is a professional ice hockey player who plays as a goaltender.
- Alina Morse is a young inventor and business owner. She started a company called Zollicandy.
- William John McConnell was born in Commerce Township. He later became an important politician, serving as one of the first Senators for Idaho and its third Governor.
