The Winter's brand began in 1997. It was started by a company in Lima called Good Foods S.A. Good Foods S.A. was the biggest company in Peru that sent chocolates to other countries.

On February 1, 2007, a large food company from Colombia, Grupo Nacional de Chocolates (now called Grupo Nutresa), bought Good Foods S.A. They also bought the Winter's brand for 36 million US dollars. They did this through their Peruvian company, Compañía Nacional de Chocolates de Perú S.A.
