Cornelius Meaney (born December 8, 1890 – died September 11, 1970) was an Irish politician. He was a member of the Fianna Fáil political party. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD), which is like a member of parliament in Ireland, for two different periods. He was a TD from 1937 to 1943 and again from 1961 to 1965.

Con Meaney's Political Journey
Con Meaney was born in Millstreet, a town in County Cork, Ireland. His full name was Cornelius Meaney. He became involved in Irish politics and joined the Fianna Fáil party.
First Time as a TD
Meaney was first chosen to be a TD in the 1937 general election. A general election is when people vote for their representatives in parliament. He represented the area called Cork North. He was elected again in the 1938 general election. However, he lost his seat in the 1943 general election.
Trying Again for a Seat
After 1943, Con Meaney tried to get back into parliament several times. He ran in the general elections of 1944, 1948, and 1951, but he was not successful.
Return to Parliament
In 1961, Con Meaney ran for election again. This time, he was elected as a TD for the Cork Mid area. He served in parliament until 1965.
Family in Politics
Con Meaney decided to retire from politics in 1965. After he retired, his son, Thomas Meaney, took his place. Thomas Meaney also became a TD for the Fianna Fáil party in the Cork Mid area. Con Meaney passed away in Cork in 1970.
