Conner David Henry (born July 21, 1963) is an American basketball coach and former player. He is currently the head coach for the boys' basketball team at St Peter's College in Australia.
Conner Henry played college basketball for the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos. He was chosen by the Houston Rockets in the 1986 NBA draft. Henry played for a few National Basketball Association (NBA) teams before playing in other leagues in America and overseas.
After his playing days, Henry started coaching. He worked as an assistant coach at Claremont McKenna College. Later, he moved to Australia to coach the Perth Wildcats. He even became their head coach for one season. Henry then coached in the NBA D-League (now called the G League) for teams like the Los Angeles D-Fenders and the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. He was named the NBA D-League Coach of the Year in 2014. He also worked as an assistant coach for the Orlando Magic in the NBA. In 2020, he returned to Australia to coach the Adelaide 36ers.

Playing Career Highlights
College Basketball Journey
Conner Henry went to Claremont High School in California. There, he played high school basketball. After high school, he played college basketball at UC Santa Barbara. He played for the Gauchos from 1982 to 1986. During his time in college, he scored a total of 1,236 points.
Professional Basketball Adventures
Conner Henry is 6-foot-7-inch (201 cm) tall and played as a shooting guard or small forward. The Houston Rockets picked him in the 1986 NBA draft. He was the 89th player chosen overall. He played briefly in the NBA from 1986 to 1988. During this time, he played for the Rockets, Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, and Sacramento Kings.
Henry also played in the CBA for teams like the Rapid City Thrillers and the Yakima Sun Kings. In 1990, he was named to the All-CBA First Team. He also won the CBA All-Star Game MVP award that year. In 1992, he was again named the MVP of the CBA All-Star Game. He made four three-pointers in that game. After his NBA career, Henry played professionally for 10 years in countries like Italy, France, Spain, and Greece.
Coaching Career Path
After his playing career, Conner Henry became a basketball coach. He started as an assistant coach at Claremont McKenna College. His father was also a professor there. He stayed there for five years until 2006.
Coaching in Australia
In 2006, Henry moved to Australia. He became an assistant coach for the Perth Wildcats in the NBL. He worked with his former college teammate, Scott Fisher, who was the head coach. After Fisher left, Henry became the head coach of the Wildcats for the 2008–09 season. In 2010, Conner joined the Sydney Kings as an assistant coach.
Coaching in the NBA G League
Henry later became an assistant coach for the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the NBA Development League (now called the G League). In October 2013, he was named the head coach of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. On April 17, 2014, he won the Dennis Johnson Coach of the Year Award. He led the Mad Ants to win the NBA D-League Championship in 2014. On June 10, 2015, he left the Mad Ants. He then became an assistant coach for the NBA's Orlando Magic on June 26. Henry also worked as a scout for the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2017 to 2019.
Recent Coaching Roles
On April 22, 2020, Henry signed a three-year deal to become the head coach of the Adelaide 36ers in the NBL. However, the 36ers released him from his contract on August 26, 2021. In July 2023, Henry joined the Charlotte 49ers men's basketball team as an assistant coach. As of January 9, 2025, Henry is the head coach for the boys' basketball team at St Peter's College in Adelaide, Australia.
