Conrad is a small city in Grundy County, Iowa, United States. In 2020, about 1,093 people lived there. It is part of the larger Waterloo–Cedar Falls area. Conrad is special because it's known as the "Black Dirt Capital of the World." This means it has very rich, dark soil, which is great for farming!

History of Conrad, Iowa
The city of Conrad got its name from a nearby area called Conrad's Grove. This grove was named after an early settler, John Conrad. A post office opened in Conrad in 1880, helping the community grow.
