What is a Conspiracy?
A conspiracy happens when people secretly team up. They agree to do something together, and this agreement itself is the conspiracy. Sometimes, these plans are harmless, but often they involve tricking others or breaking laws.
Different Kinds of Conspiracies
There are a few ways we talk about conspiracies:
- A cabal is a secret group, often made of religious, political, or tribal leaders. They meet in secret to make plans that usually benefit themselves or their group, not everyone.
- In a legal sense, a conspiracy can be a secret agreement between people to trick or cheat others out of their rights. It could also be a plan to gain an unfair advantage over someone else.
- Sometimes, a conspiracy is a secret agreement to break a law in the future. This is a serious matter, and just making the agreement can be against the rules.
- In politics, a conspiracy might be a secret plan to change or even overthrow a government. People involved in such a plan work together to achieve their political goals in a hidden way.
