The Conway Public Library is a special place in Conway, New Hampshire. It's located at 15 Greenwood Avenue in the heart of Conway village. This historic building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2017.

The Conway Public Library building stands out in Conway village. It faces Main Street, which is also New Hampshire Route 113.
Building Design
The library is a two-story building. It is made from strong brick and stone. It has a classic, grand style with special features. The main entrance has a fancy brownstone porch. There's also a tall clocktower with a clock on all four sides. The top of the tower has a shiny copper dome. A newer part of the building was added to the east.
Inside the Library
When you go inside the old part of the library, you'll see many original details. The walls have beautiful wooden panels made from oak. There are also pretty stained glass windows.
How the Library Started
The library was first started in 1895 by the Conway Women's Club. The building you see today was finished in 1900. It was designed by a famous architect named Thomas Silloway. He is known for designing many churches and even the Vermont State House. This library might be the only library he ever designed! The clock in the tower was given by George M. Stevens.
The building itself was a gift from two sisters, Lydia and Sarah Jenks. They gave it in honor of Lydia's late husband, Thomas. He was a well-known local doctor. He left money to help start the library.
