La Cooperativa is a cool Italian food hall and marketplace located in Portland, Oregon. You can find it in an area of Portland called the Pearl District. This place is like a big indoor market where you can find lots of different Italian foods and products. It was planned to open in July 2020, but it officially opened its doors in September 2020.
What is La Cooperativa?
La Cooperativa is a large space, about 5,000 square feet, which is like a big open room. It was created by two people named Anna Caporael and Sarah Schafer. They opened it on the ground floor of a building called Tanner Point.
Inspired by Italy
The idea for La Cooperativa came from a famous market in Florence, Italy, called Mercato Centrale. This means it's designed to feel like a lively Italian market. It's a place where you can explore different food stalls and shops all in one spot.
What You Can Find There
At La Cooperativa, you can enjoy many different kinds of Italian food and products. It has a special area just for pizza, where you can get fresh slices. There's also a pasta station where you can try different kinds of pasta dishes.
You can also find a bar if you want a drink. Besides the main food areas, there are other small shops. These shops sell things like coffee, beautiful flowers, yummy gelato (which is like Italian ice cream), and delicious pastries. You can also find other unique products there.
