Early Life and Education
Coralie Colmez grew up in Paris, France. Her parents, Pierre Colmez and Leila Schneps, are both mathematicians. This means she was around numbers and math from a young age!
After finishing school in Paris, Coralie moved to the United Kingdom. She went to the University of Cambridge, a very famous university. She studied Mathematics there and earned a special degree called a Bachelor of Arts. She even won an award called the Ryan Prize for her excellent work in higher mathematics.
Helping Students and Education
After university, Coralie worked for a year as a research assistant. She helped a special group that was looking into how math was being taught in the United Kingdom. Her work helped present important findings to the Joint Mathematics Council, a group that advises on math education.
Today, Coralie is a co-director of an organization called unifrog. This amazing group helps students like you find out about different jobs, apprenticeships (where you learn a skill while working), and university courses. It also helps teachers keep track of their students' progress.
Writing Books for Young Readers

Since her book Math on Trial came out, Coralie Colmez has been invited to speak at many science and education events in the UK.
