History
The area where Cordova is located has a long past. A post office named Steeles Mill was active there as early as 1828. Later, in 1899, a new post office was opened and given the name Cordova. This shows how the community grew and developed over time.

Cordova is found in the southwestern part of Richmond County. It is located right along the Pee Dee River, which is an important river in the region.
