The Story of Corinth, Texas

What Was Corinth Like?

In 1936, Corinth was a small but active community. It had important buildings like a church, a factory, and a school. There were also several businesses that served the people living there. These places helped the town grow and thrive.

Why Did Corinth Become a Ghost Town?

Over time, people started to leave Corinth. The school, which was a central part of the community, closed its doors in 1955. This often happens when families move away. By 1962, most of the businesses had also shut down. Only the church and the cemetery remained as signs of the former town.

By 1983, even the church had closed. The cemetery was no longer shown on maps. This means that Corinth, as a living community, had almost completely disappeared. It became a true ghost town, a quiet reminder of a place that once was.
