Where is Corner, Alabama?
Corner is located in Jefferson County. It gets its name because it's found near where three counties meet: Jefferson, Walker, and Blount. This community is about 6 miles west of a town called Warrior.
Much of Corner is on a place called York Mountain. On clear days, you can even see as far as Birmingham from here! The exact borders of Corner can be a bit unclear. This is especially true when you compare it to nearby communities like Bagley. Often, the local school zone helps define where Corner is.

Schools are a very important part of the Corner community. Corner High School is a major center for the area. It teaches about 1,000 students from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade.

Corner Middle School is located where Bagley (Mayfield) Road and Corner School Road meet. Corner High School used to be at the same spot as the middle school. However, in 2010, the high school moved to a new building. This new facility is about three miles (5 km) west on Warrior-Jasper Road.
Sports and Activities
Corner High School is known for its sports teams and other activities. Their mascot is the yellow jacket. They compete in Class 4A of the Alabama High School Athletic Association. Their main rivals are the Dora Bulldogs from Dora and the Hayden Wildcats from Hayden.

Corner High School's Baseball Championship
One of the most exciting recent achievements for Corner High School was in 2024. Their baseball team won the AHSAA 4A Baseball State Championship! This was a huge win, as it was the school's first state championship in 70 years, and their first ever in baseball.
The team finished their season with an amazing record of 33 wins and only 8 losses. Many players and coaches received special awards for their hard work. These included nominations for First-Team and Second-Team All State, 4A Coach of the Year, and 4A Pitcher of the Year.
