Cornwallis Square is a charming village located in Kings County, Nova Scotia, Canada. It sits right on the banks of the Cornwallis River. This quiet community is a great place to learn about local history and climate.
A Look Back: The History of Cornwallis Square
The story of Cornwallis Square began in 1947. That's when the WCG Commission was first created. This group was in charge of important services for nearby areas. These services included fire protection, fun recreation activities, and keeping sidewalks in good shape. The areas covered were Waterville, Cambridge, and Grafton.
In the 1960s, another community called Woodville joined the service area. Because more places were included, the commission changed its name. It became known as Cornwallis Square. Today, one of the biggest employers in the area is the Michelin company.
