While playing for Central Connecticut, Edwards helped his team make history. In 2000, he led them to their very first NCAA Tournament appearance. They were a #15 seed and played a tough game against #2 seeded Iowa State, losing 88–78.

Professional Basketball Career

Edwards was chosen by the Sacramento Kings in the 2002 NBA draft. He was the very last pick, number 58 overall. However, he did not sign with the Kings.

Starting in the CBA

Instead, Edwards began his professional career in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). The Yakima Sun Kings picked him in their 2002 draft. He joined the Sun Kings in November 2002 but left them a month later. He then signed with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, another CBA team.

In 2003, Edwards played in the CBA All-Star Game. He was the top rebounder for the National Conference All-Stars, grabbing 12 rebounds. He was also named to the CBA All-Rookie Team in 2003, which means he was one of the best new players in the league.

For the 2003–2004 season, Edwards played in Italy for a team called RB Montecatini Terme. He played as a center for them.

He later played 10 games for the New Orleans Hornets during the 2004-05 NBA season. In those games, he scored about 2.7 points per game. His last NBA game was on January 12, 2005, against the Detroit Pistons.
